I’ve realised recently that I’ve been looking at my wardrobe wrong. Rather than trying to keep it ‘minimalist’ and panicking every time a new piece enters it without removing something old, I have changed my tactic in that I’m allowing it to fill with pieces I love (and that fit, are intact and unstained (#mumlife)).
This House of Harlow piece is the perfect example. I don’t remember when (i.e. what year) I bought it and I don’t wear it often but when I do, the vintage silk always feels amazing on my skin. In the past, I’ve felt as though I need to get rid of this piece because it really doesn’t get a lot of wear but I’ve never had the heart to part with it. I do love it though and every time I open my wardrobe doors to reveal it, I find myself sliding the fabric through my fingers. I don’t think it’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.
Oh, and full disclosure – this top is a work out top – but I don’t even care.
