I bloody love Christmas. Our tree has been up for nearly two weeks and I’m constantly on the lookout for presents my loved ones will appreciate. However, a few minutes on social media will show you that the days where Christmas is about mindless consumption and present giving for the sake of it are numbered. I saw something on Instagram the other day that said ‘there are two months left of this decade’ and my mind was blown. Isn’t that absolute madness? We’ll be in 2020 before we know it.
Wow. October. How the hell did that happen? Another month down and another month closer to the end of the year.

I don’t know how but the year is absolutely flying by and yet winter seems to be taking an age to pass through. I have well and truly been battling with the winter blues. Nevertheless, I thought I’d do another monthly update on the blog for July/August because my May/June one got a pretty good reception.
For the past few months, I’ve been so terrible at getting up and tackling the day. I generally get a good sleep but I definitely have been staying up way too late and perhaps that’s made me a bit too sloth like in the mornings. Not to mention I get the most amazing cuddles if I wait to be woken up by my real-life, walking and talking, three year old alarm. However, she loves waking up to me moving about the house and I love getting my makeup done without little miss grabbing everything they can reach.
