Before I get into this, there are a few things I’d just like to say. Firstly, I just want to thank everyone who responded to my Instagram poll. I didn’t want to share this aspect of my life without anyone finding value in it. Secondly, this post is completely based on my experiences. It is not backed by scientific evidence, medical degrees or years of training. If in reading this you realise you’re experiencing what I did, I’m sorry but I don’t have answers for you. I don’t even have answers for myself. Lastly, this is not an anti-contraception rant. If anything, I’m envious of those who can take contraception without any negative side effects.
It is currently the 15th of July – this means there are 138 days until summer officially starts in the southern hemisphere. Now, I thought I was ready for the summer. I wouldn’t have cared if you put me in a bikini tomorrow. However, an experience today made me realise – actually, I do care.
I can hear it – the sigh of disappointment as you’ve seen what I’ve delivered as my first shopping haul. But if you’ll stick with me, you’ll see that I’ve picked the easiest, most common, most readily available place to start being finding healthy and useful goodies.

Let’s cut through the crap. I’ve been a bit indulgent and, with lack of a better word, lazy, of late. Now that silly season has well and truly begun with all the madness that comes with it there are some habits that I’m dying to bring back to the daily routine to help keep the sanity. So as much as this is for you, this is for me too – I need that kick in the butt to get back to good things.
