Those who follow me on Instagram, know I was in a bit of a panic a few weeks ago when I decided that, after a long hiatus, I would complete the second portion of my degree to become a practicing lawyer. Continue reading
There has been a dramatic decline in outfit posts on my Instagram and blog over the past couple of months and when I do post, you’ll notice I’m recycling the same pieces.
As most of you are aware, my wardrobe went through a big cull last year and I’ve been slowly trying to build it back up and create MY perfect wardrobe.
I had been purchasing pieces for the sake of this goal but realised it wasn’t working for me. Things weren’t being worn before I grew tired of seeing them so I’ve decided to take a step back and purchase only as necessary – i.e. to replace an item or for a specific event/occasion. In the meantime, I’ll raid my boyfriend’s closet and live in his things.
Top – Cotton On
Bag – Some market in Ho Chi Minh
Jeans – Rolla’s Jeans
Shoes – Billini
I’ve realised recently that I’ve been looking at my wardrobe wrong. Rather than trying to keep it ‘minimalist’ and panicking every time a new piece enters it without removing something old, I have changed my tactic in that I’m allowing it to fill with pieces I love (and that fit, are intact and unstained (#mumlife)).
Ok, so this one might be more for me than you. Ever see a trend, buy into it, get it home and wonder how the hell you are going to work it? That was me with this head scarf.
It amazes me how much of my life I could tell you through my clothes. I seem to have a story to go with every piece I own.
Wanna know what I love about this outfit? The bodysuit means I don’t won’t get a cold back because there’s no way it can untuck!
I love winter outfits that scream comfort and have that ‘cool girl’ edge.
