I am becoming increasingly aware of the waste I produce both inside and out of my home. Everything seems to come wrapped up in layers and layers of plastic only to be collected in more plastic and taken to landfill.
When I wanted to update my room, I knew I wanted a few things – 1) I wanted my room to promote relaxation, 2) I wanted good quality bamboo sheets, 3) I wanted a big piece of artwork that I wouldn’t grow tired of and 4) I wanted my bed on the floor.
I can hear it – the sigh of disappointment as you’ve seen what I’ve delivered as my first shopping haul. But if you’ll stick with me, you’ll see that I’ve picked the easiest, most common, most readily available place to start being finding healthy and useful goodies.
We’re a week into 2018 already. Do you ‘do’ resolutions? Have you decided what yours are?
Alright, I’m calling it – Bella’s room is complete and I can move onto the next.
I’m not quite sure what the impetus for the home update has come from. Maybe it’s because it will be all mine, maybe it’s just time for a refresh or maybe I’m finally growing up.
We’ve put our home on the market. For those of you who are wondering – no, we’re not selling because we’re currently separated. We’ve realised that we’re tired of working only to pay bills. (We have a couple of debts to take care of – hangovers from me being off work for a year with Bella.)
