It’s that time of year again where everyone is counting down for the new one to start. While I try not to wish my life away, I do love a new year. It’s time for self-reflection, learning from the past and moving forward for the future.
I’ve realised recently that I’ve been looking at my wardrobe wrong. Rather than trying to keep it ‘minimalist’ and panicking every time a new piece enters it without removing something old, I have changed my tactic in that I’m allowing it to fill with pieces I love (and that fit, are intact and unstained (#mumlife)).
Before I get into this, there are a few things I’d just like to say. Firstly, I just want to thank everyone who responded to my Instagram poll. I didn’t want to share this aspect of my life without anyone finding value in it. Secondly, this post is completely based on my experiences. It is not backed by scientific evidence, medical degrees or years of training. If in reading this you realise you’re experiencing what I did, I’m sorry but I don’t have answers for you. I don’t even have answers for myself. Lastly, this is not an anti-contraception rant. If anything, I’m envious of those who can take contraception without any negative side effects.
I am becoming increasingly aware of the waste I produce both inside and out of my home. Everything seems to come wrapped up in layers and layers of plastic only to be collected in more plastic and taken to landfill.
